Where do I start with James Booker? This madman piano player from New Orleans haunted his fans and audiences with covers by Leadbelly, Jelly Roll Morton, Howlin' Wolf, Professor Longhair, the Beatles, and finished every tune with a rendering of some Chopin-esque masterpiece. Booker, is missed and loved by all who knew him and not easily emulated by any piano virtuoso.

This illustration was done by Bunny Mathews, the same guy who does the Yats, Vic and Nat'ly cartoons which you may have seen on the Leidenheimer bread delivery trucks. This is a CMYK screen print which I created from the original illustration for the movie - Bayou Maharaja, the troubled genius of James Booker. These were limited prints of 50 which were sold on the kickstarter site as gifts for donations to the making of the movie.
